I AM
DR. ANTOINETTE KRUSE
ABOUT ME
I am a University of Michigan-trained Clinical Social Work Educator, and Trauma Professional with a macro focus committed to partnering with individuals, families, communities, organizations, and government. My research is focused on the mental health challenges associated with natural disasters. I am a Professor and Field Educator providing quality field experiences to future social workers at the master’s level and nursing students.
I am the Founder and Executive Director of Providence Family Life Center, a 501c3 non-profit organization established in 2008 with a focus on those living with undiagnosed mental illness, co-occurring substance dependence, neuro-cognitive disorders, and developmental disabilities.
I integrate my diverse clinical, academic, and community-based leadership to bring innovative, new thinking to old places. My practice is strengthened by the quality of the “therapeutic relationship” using a trauma-informed approach to my work. I am also a Certified Yoga Teacher, RYT200, bringing a unique mix of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), neuroscience, nutrition, and cultural consciousness with movement, mindful breathing, and meditation.
